Welcome to St. John: Open Hearts in the Heart of the City
We’re in the heart of downtown Augusta on Greene Street between Seventh and Eighth. Park out front on Greene or around back in our lot on Telfair across the street from Bell Auditorium.
We will welcome you, but we won’t hassle you.
Dress in whatever makes you comfortable—from jeans to seersucker, shorts to Sunday-best.
We worship at 11:00 a.m. with coffee and donuts ahead of time in the Fellowship Hall.
Children of all ages are welcome in worship with you. There is a nursery available for children ages birth to 5 years, if you choose. Pew bags and children’s worship bulletins are available.
Our historic sanctuary glows with light filtered through century-old stained glass. Here the Word, read and preached, offers love and grace and calls us to be Christ’s hands and feet in Augusta. Our service is filled with music, the choir, congregation, and organ offering a glimpse of the city of God we seek to build. Our communion table is open to all.
We follow the seasons of the liturgical year and the Lectionary, keeping ancient traditions but celebrating them with freshness and creativity.
