We are offering two options to ignite your Lenten journey.
We are having to cancel our group gatherings March 15-March 26. We are exploring how we can continue discussion through other methods during this time. We will let you know.
Living Out God’s Truth: Peace in a Divided World
We will hold a conversation series based on the teachings of Rev. Dr. Gary Mason on Sundays, March 1 – April 5, from 5pm-6:30pm in Room 108. This North Georgia conference resource, entitled “Living Out God’s Truth,” encourages six weeks of discussion and exercises to reconnect to grace and a social holiness at this divided time. Living a truth that goes against cultural norms will require us to examine ourselves, reconcile our differences, restore relationships with one another, and recommit to living out our social covenant together. St. John is hosting the conversation, but we invite all Augusta District members and guests to join us by registering below. Please note if nursery is needed on the registration form. More information can be found at https://www.ngumc.org/conversation-guide
Anxious for Nothing: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World
Another option during Lent will be a Wednesday evening study from 6:30pm-7:30pm after supper, March 4 – April 1. Based on Max Lucado’s book “Anxious for Nothing: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World,” various leaders will guide us through scripture, discussion, and exercises as we reflect on the promises of Philippians 4:4-8. Registration is not required, but please see Nichole for a study book. (Suggested donation of $10.) Nursery and programs for children and youth are offered every Wednesday at the same time as this study. Join us for supper if you’d like! https://stjohnaugusta.org/programs/wednesday-night-supper-menu/
