The time for our annual St. John Women’s Retreat is almost here: Friday, April 27th thru Sunday, April 29th. (All are welcome to come Thursday April 26th as early as 4:30pm, but the sessions will not officially start until after dinner on Friday.) We have a late checkout on Sunday, so that our time is not rushed!
We’ll be heading to Fripp Island, SC this year, just about three hours from Augusta. We are staying at a large oceanfront home you can view at https://www.vrbo.com/439590. It sleeps up to 19 in beds (3 on sofas) and has an elevator, golf cart, and a hot tub! If you truly don’t mind a couch or are one of the last to reserve a spot, you may get a sleeper sofa. (Price can be reduced.) Also when you respond, please tell me if you have special sleeping needs, bath needs, or mobility issues.
The cost is $225. Retreat supplies and food (Friday dinner through Sunday lunch) are included in your cost. We do all our own meals, and usually we all help in at least a small way so not one person is always the cook or the dishwasher! You can also bring any snacks/desserts to share, and of course, any food you may need because of special dietary concerns.
Games are fun to play, too, if you’d like to bring one for late nights! There’ll be free time as well for shopping in Beaufort, exploring historical sites, walking the beach, or curling up with a good book (or The Good Book!).
So, is it all fun and games? Yes and no. The purpose of our retreat is to explore spiritual truths in the fellowship of women in order to grow personally in our relationship with Jesus Christ and with each other as the Body of Christ. We will have “sessions” in which we read scripture, journal, discuss, and share. Our retreat theme this year is “Beautiful Feet.” If you would like to help out in one of the sessions, or lead hymn singing, or coordinate session supplies or food, please let me know.
I am very excited to see what God will make of our weekend together! It is sure to be a time of fun, relaxation, and spiritual growth if we open our hearts and minds to the opportunity God is presenting.
Your Sister in Christ,
