God is good! Join us as we celebrate God’s goodness with Summer in the Psalms.

This week’s psalm is 119:105-112.

105 Your word is a lamp before my feet
and a light for my journey.
106 I have sworn, and I fully mean it:
I will keep your righteous rules.
107 I have been suffering so much—
Lord, make me live again according to your promise.
108 Please, Lord, accept my spontaneous gifts of praise.
    Teach me your rules!
109 Though my life is constantly in danger,
    I won’t forget your Instruction.
110 Though the wicked have set a trap for me,
I won’t stray from your precepts.
111 Your laws are my possession forever
because they are my heart’s joy.
112 I have decided to keep your statutes forever, every last one.

Throughout the month of July on social media, we will post videos related to the Psalm of the Week to our St. John UMC Augusta Facebook page.  Make sure you “like” our Facebook page so the videos will come across your News Feed.

Every Monday at 6pm, we will have a Zoom meeting for people of all ages to reflect upon the Psalm of the Week together.  Contact Pastor Lindsey to sign up and she will send you the link lsolomon@stjohnaugusta.org.

The following Sunday of each week beginning July 5, you will get the opportunity to hear and reflect on that Psalm in worship, read by one of our St. John Kids!

We invite you to find a way to express the Psalm(s) creatively. Whether through writing or reading poetry, prayers, or song, dance, or visual art. Prepare something to share at our celebration on July 26, in physical form/presentation or as a video or file you make of your creation to share on our social media.

To help you in your creativity, we will offer Brushes and Brunch – an all-ages painting day – on Saturday, July 19 in the church courtyard, weather permitting, from 9am-11am. All materials are provided, but you can, of course, bring your own if you want. Extra easels will help if you have one to bring.

On Sunday, July 26, we will wrap up Summer in the Psalms with a Celebration Under the Pines at our Lake Property.  We will have a bring-your-own-picnic at 5pm and the Celebration begins at 6pm at the Chapel Under the Pines.
