Wednesday, November 28 – Family Advent Night! After 6pm supper, help us decorate the Fellowship Hall tree and be reminded of God’s presence in our daily lives. We’ll also have ornament crafts and card-writing for veterans and St. John homebound members. This is for all ages!

Wednesdays, December 5 and 12 – A study on It’s a Wonderful Life: To Live Again by Sheila Jacobs. We’ll watch movie clips and discuss hopes and dreams, perspective, and forgiveness. “As we learn to stay in His presence, filled with His Spirit, we will find that hope and peace and the joy that isn’t dependent on our outward circumstances. God calls us to trust Him; trust Him with a life that might not be our ‘Plan A’ but is His, if we have surrendered our lives to Him.” Programs also for children and youth. Nursery available for ages 0 to 5.*

Sunday, December 2 – Our four-week worship series focuses on “The Promise of God.” Worship with us at 11am** on this First Sunday of Advent with the Hanging of the Greens Procession and a special children’s message at the lighting of the Advent Wreath. (9 am service in Chapel.)

Tuesday- Saturday, December 4-8 – Decorating the Chrismon Tree in the Sanctuary . Contact Paula Matson to help.

Sunday, December 9 – Worship with us on this Second Sunday of Advent  and a special children’s message at the lighting of the Advent Wreath at 11am. (9 am service in Chapel.)

Sunday, December 16 – Worship with us this Third Sunday of Advent and a special children’s message at the lighting of the Advent Wreath at 11am with the Junior Choir leading us in music. (9 am service in Chapel.)  (Combined Elementary and Youth Sunday school today in Room 109.)

Wednesday, December 19 – The Annual Birthday Party for Jesus held in the choir room after supper. The children’s choirs present the story of the nativity through story and our most-loved carols. We end with a giant birthday cake!

Sunday, December 23 – Worship with us this Fourth Sunday of Advent and a special children’s message at the lighting of the Advent Wreath. (9 am service in Chapel.) You are invited to a special Christmas brunch in the Fellowship Hall between 9am and 11am. (No children or youth Sunday School.) Poinsettias ordered by members help decorate the front of the church for this service and Christmas Eve. Order forms.

Monday, December 24 – 10:30pm Concerts With a Cause, 11:00 pm Lessons and Carols presented by the St. John Choirs and Guest Orchestra. Come worship the Newborn King! Nursery available. (Please take your poinsettia home if you purchased one or were honored with one as a gift.)

Monday, December 24 – Tuesday, December 25 – Church offices closed.

Sunday, December 30 – Combined worship service at 11 am. (Sunday School classes as usual at 10am.)

 

*Nursery is available every Sunday and Wednesday, and even on Christmas Eve!
